Free DOT compliance check

Enter a USDOT number to see what FMCSA shows right now: operating status, authority, safety rating, insurance on file, MCS-150 and inspection rates. No signup needed.

What the check looks at

Six things brokers, insurers and auditors look at first

  • Operating status. Whether FMCSA shows the USDOT number as allowed to operate, and any out-of-service order on record.
  • Operating authority. Whether common, contract or broker MC authority is active.
  • Safety rating. Satisfactory, Conditional, Unsatisfactory or not rated yet.
  • Insurance on file. Liability insurance FMCSA has on file compared with what is required.
  • MCS-150. Whether the biennial update is flagged as overdue, which can lead to deactivation.
  • Inspection out-of-service rates. Vehicle and driver out-of-service rates compared with the national average.
